Cathay Pacific New Zealand Hong Kong Sevens Social Giveaway - Terms and Conditions

1. Information on how to enter and the prize form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. All prize values stated in these Terms and Conditions are inclusive of GST where applicable, and expressed in NZD, unless specified otherwise.

2. All entrants must be aged 18 years or over, be a New Zealand resident and hold a valid passport.

3. Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter, and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin.

4. The prizewinner will be selected by 5 March 2025. The competition will run from 7 to 28 February 2025 11:59pm (NZDT) (“Promotional Period”).

5. If (having made reasonable efforts) we cannot contact a prizewinner, or if a Prize is not accepted or claimed by the Prize Claim Date [10 March 2025], we may conduct an Unclaimed Prize(s) Draw (subject to any directions given by the relevant authority if applicable).

6. To enter, individuals must post a photo of themselves dressed in a Hong Kong Sevens outfit on a personal and public Instagram account and include the tag @cathaypacific and hashtag #GetMeToTheHK7s in the caption during the Promotional Period.
   
   
7. Only one (1) entry is permitted per person for the entirety of the Promotional Period.
   
   
8. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions, tampered with the entry process or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise fair and proper conduct of the promotion. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The Promoter's legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
   
   
   • If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the entrant.
      
9. Entries will be assessed by four Cathay representatives based in the Southwest Pacific office in Barangaroo, Sydney. One winner will be selected based on the costume posted. They must have used the tag @cathaypacific and hashtag #GetMeToTheHK7s in the caption. The winner will be notified via direct message on their Instagram account, and an official prizewinner letter will be shared.
   
   
10. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
    
    
11. There is one (1) Prize to be won, comprising of:
    
    • Two (2) adult economy return airfares from Auckland to Hong Kong, SAR (inclusive of airfare related taxes and charges) (valued at up to $3,729);
    • Four (4) nights at EAST Hotel in Hong Kong to be shared by the winner and their companion (valued at up to $2,730);
    • Free breakfast at EAST Hotel through duration of stay;
    • 2x 3-day passes to the HK7s (valued at up to $884)
      
      Total prize is valued at up to NZD $7,434 (incl. GST)
12. The travel insurance, spending money, meals, insurance, passports, visas, vaccinations, transport to and from departure point, transfers, items of a personal nature, in-room charges and all other ancillary costs are not included. Travel will take place on 27 March 2025, returning 31 March 2025, unless extended at the cost of the prizewinner.
    
    
13. Prize is subject to the standard terms and conditions of individual prize and service providers, including the Cathay Pacific Terms and Conditions which will be provided to the winner at a later date. Any ancillary costs associated with redeeming the prize are not included.
    
    
14. The winner and their companion are responsible for obtaining any and all visa requirements and travel insurance for the prize when necessary and if applicable.
    
    
15. The winner is responsible for any and all additional government taxes and charges associated with the prize.
    
    
16. The prize can be redeemed by the winner only and cannot be transferred to any other person, including family members unless specified by the Promoter. 
    
    
17. By providing any information to Cathay Pacific online or offline, entrants consent to the collection and use of such information by Cathay Pacific, its affiliates, partners, contractors and permitted agents as herein described and consistent with applicable laws.
    
    
18. In collecting the winner’s personal information, Cathay Pacific agrees to comply with New Zealand Privacy Laws in accordance with its privacy policy (which can be viewed at https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_NZ/legal-and-privacy/customer-privacy-notice.html)
    
    
19. Frequent flyer points will not form part of the prize. 
    
    
20. In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency, pandemic or any other kind of disaster, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion or suspend, substitute or modify a prize, subject to any written directions from a relevant regulatory authority.
    
    
21. Prize, or any unused portion of the prize, is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash, unless otherwise specified.
    
    
22. Entrants consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this promotion (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.
    
    
23. If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.
    
    
24. Any cost associated with accessing the promotional website is the entrant’s responsibility and is dependent on the Internet service provider used.
    • Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; or (f) use / taking of the prize.
